Shirley Jackson Awards to be held at Readercon 20

On July 12, 2009, The Shirley Jackson Awards will be presented at Readercon 20, Conference on Imaginative Literature, in Burlington Massachusetts.

According to the website, "The Shirley Jackson Awards have been established for outstanding achievement in the literature of psychological suspense, horror, and the dark fantastic." The works were published between January 1 and December 31 in the preceding calendar year.

The 2008 award nominees are:

As First Step Press continues to expand, we are finding that we are stretched to our limits! We are currently looking for a few dedicated volunteers. The requirements for all positions are as follows:

A strong interest for the written word.
Able to work with little supervision.
Able to work under (flexible) deadlines.
Able to work with a diverse group.
Computer literacy is an awesome plus!
